Security expert Dr. Adams Bonaa has called for the strategic use of technology in combating the growing threat of terrorism in Ghana and the West African sub-region.
Speaking on ABC Prime on Tuesday, January 28, Dr. Bonaa emphasized that “fighting terrorism means everyone—from the media to market traders—must come on board.”
His remarks followed comments by Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence-designate, during his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
Dr. Boamah pledged to reinforce Ghana’s security infrastructure, stressing the urgency of completing the nation’s Fractional Orbital Bombardment Systems (FOB) to counter terrorism.
“Terrorism is escalating in neighboring countries,” Dr. Boamah warned. “Emerging threats demand vigilance and proactive measures to protect our nation.”
Dr. Bonaa stressed the need for collaboration and technological advancement, noting that terrorism’s unpredictable nature requires innovative strategies and collective action across all sectors of society.
