The Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, John Kwame Adu Jack, has lauded the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism in maintaining order during the ongoing Akwatia by-election.
According to him, “this is one of the peaceful election ever held,” a testament to the collaborative effort between security agencies and electoral officials.
He further noted that the turnout has been encouraging, describing it as a sign of voter confidence in the process.
He urged those who have not yet cast their ballot to “have that courage to come out and vote for the betterment of the community,” stressing that every voice matters in shaping the constituency’s future.
The Akwatia contest, triggered by the death of Member of Parliament Ernest Kumi, has drawn national attention.
With more than 50,000 registered voters expected to decide between the NDC’s Bernard Bediako Baidoo and the NPP’s Solomon Kwame Asumadu, Adu Jack’s remarks highlight a crucial narrative—that despite fierce competition, the democratic exercise is being carried out in peace.
