The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana has called for government to double the allowance paid to its members and teacher trainees across the country.
This follows what the association described as insufficient in the current circumstances the GHS400 being paid to teacher trainees.
Addressing the media today on the CETAG impass at the Accra College of Education, the president f the association, Soale Razak said since the reinstitution of the allowance in 2017, the amount has not being increased even in face of rising cost of living
“The allowances has been the same for seven years. This GHS 400 does not all comes to students pockets. It’s further divided with some components going to the principals to feed the colleges f education which is also insufficient,” he said.
