The United States Embassy in Ghana has confirmed the extradition of Joseph Badu Boateng, popularly known as “Dada Joe Remix,” to the U.S. to face charges related to a large-scale fraud scheme.
In a statement shared via Facebook, the Embassy said the extradition was the result of close collaboration between its Diplomatic Security Service special agents, Ghanaian authorities, and the FBI.
Boateng was indicted for allegedly operating a sophisticated fraud ring that targeted American victims through romance and inheritance scams, defrauding them of several million dollars.
According to the Embassy, Boateng is now in the custody of U.S. law enforcement and will stand trial for his alleged crimes.
“This extradition underscores the strong cooperation between U.S. and Ghanaian law enforcement agencies in bringing international fraudsters to justice,” the statement read.
