The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a statement, the Council assured that login details would be provided to heads of schools to access the results of their candidates.
Additionally, candidates can check their results on WAEC’s official website, www.waecgh.org.
WAEC cautioned stakeholders against fraudsters offering to upgrade results for a fee, emphasizing that all results are secure and verifiable through its QR code system.
However, the Council has taken disciplinary action following investigations into irregularities during the exams.
Subject results of 4,108 candidates were cancelled for bringing foreign materials into the exam halls, and the entire results of 483 candidates were voided due to mobile phone possession during exams.
Cases involving 319 schools accused of collusion are still under investigation.
This announcement comes after a delay attributed to government debts, with GH₵85 million recently released to settle part of the GH₵118 million owed to WAEC.
A total of 460,611 candidates from 1,003 schools sat for the exams, a 2.66% increase over 2023, while 4,609 candidates were absent.
