Nana Kwasi Boatey Esq. has outlined a bold vision for the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL), stating that his administration is committed to transforming the company into “one of the most ultramodern press houses in the whole of West Africa.”

Speaking on Focus on ABC, he acknowledged that the company had enormous untapped potential and required a strategic repositioning to claim its place in the publishing industry.

“A lot of people don’t know about the company or what we do, which requires a complete overhaul of the brand,” he emphasized.

To achieve this, GPCL is revamping its operations with a focus on brand positioning, infrastructure enhancement, and service expansion.

The MD revealed plans to set up a corporate department to spearhead these initiatives, alongside a revision of the company’s organogram to improve efficiency.

“We want to ensure that this company brands and positions itself as one of the most ultramodern press houses in West Africa. It will come at a cost, but we are determined to do it with a comprehensive plan,” he affirmed.

Part of this vision includes securing capital investment to acquire state-of-the-art printing equipment and exploring security printing services such as passport and checkbook printing.

“If all banks in Ghana printed their checkbooks with us, that’s a significant market share,” he noted. Nana Boatey emphasized that digitalization is also a top priority, with plans to establish an e-bookshop to modernize the company’s operations.

“Instead of people traveling long distances to buy an Act, they should be able to access it online,” he added.
