Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, is calling for a major shift in Ghana’s tourism strategy, urging investment and support for cruise tourism.
Speaking on ABC News GH, she stated, “We must invest in and support cruise tourism,” as part of her vision to revamp the sector.
Gomashie emphasized the importance of promoting eco-tourism and maintaining a clean environment to attract sustainable tourists, recognizing the economic and environmental potential of these initiatives.
During her appearance before the Parliament Appointments Committee on Wednesday, January 22, Gomashie also expressed the need to restructure the Tourism Ministry to improve its operations.
She addressed the tensions caused by the recent election results, urging citizens to adopt a more tolerant and peaceful approach.
“We need to be more tolerant of each other,” she said, urging unity to ensure the country moves forward harmoniously.
In parallel, President John Dramani Mahama swore in six new ministers, reinforcing his commitment to effective governance and national progress.
