Governance expert at the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Michael Boadi has called for the introduction of an additional layer of checks to assess the performance and accountability of the impending ninth Parliament, citing concerns over the dynamics created by its supermajority and minority composition.
Speaking in an interview on ABC in the morning, Mr. Boadi highlighted the potential challenges that may arise from the overwhelming majority enjoyed by the NDC and the reduced influence of the NPP opposition in holding the government accountable.
He argued that this imbalance could undermine parliamentary scrutiny and effective governance.
