Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria, praised Ghana’s newly sworn-in President, John Dramani Mahama, as a leader who deeply cares for his country.
“No one can ask more from a leader than that,” he remarked, expressing Nigeria’s unwavering support for Ghana. “You know you can count on our support at any time,” Tinubu assured the Ghanaian people.
Speaking after his inauguration, Mahama outlined his vision to rationalize Ghana’s tax system, ensuring fairness for citizens and businesses.
“Ghana is back to business again,” Mahama declared.
He expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for re-electing him, promising that their vote would inspire tangible change for the nation.
Mahama also acknowledged the nation’s challenges but urged citizens not to succumb to pessimism.
His government, he affirmed, would work to strengthen public health systems and prepare for future pandemics.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including former Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor, former First Lady Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, and several African leaders, including President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President William Ruto of Kenya.
