A devastating accident on the Adukrom-Somanya road has claimed the lives of a parent and a child, with several others feared dead.
The tragic incident occurred when a bus carrying 43 children and 19 adults from Ben Kunadu SDA Basic School somersaulted and landed on its side while descending a hill on the Aseseeso stretch.
Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Awatey, who was passing by, joined rescue efforts, assisting in transporting injured students to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Hospital.
Emergency response teams, including the Police, Fire Service, and Ambulance Service, have since arrived at the scene to aid in rescue operations.
A teacher involved in the accident confirmed the deaths, while authorities continue to assess the full extent of casualties. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
