Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed strong confidence in his team ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday, March 21.
The Black Stars are aiming for a fifth World Cup appearance, and Addo’s previous experience in leading Ghana to the 2022 tournament in Qatar could prove vital in ensuring qualification.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Addo emphasized that Ghana holds its destiny in its own hands and is well-prepared to secure a positive result.
“Now we have everything in our own hands, which is very important, very good for us, and this is really positive. I am very sure we will deliver [against Chad],” he stated.
Ghana has enjoyed a solid campaign in the World Cup qualifiers so far, winning three out of their four matches. This marks a significant turnaround from their disappointing AFCON 2025 qualifying campaign, where they failed to secure a single victory.
Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:00 PM GMT. A victory would strengthen their position at the top of Group I as they push for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
