Ghana’s Black Stars will face Colombia in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, setting up a highly anticipated knockout clash in Kansas City, USA, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

The fixture confirms Ghana’s progression into the expanded knockout phase of the tournament, which now features 48 teams and allows for top performers across the group stage—including selected third-placed sides—to advance.

The Black Stars booked their place in the last 32 after finishing third in Group L.

Their campaign opened on a positive note with a narrow 1-0 victory over Panama, followed by a disciplined goalless draw against England. Despite falling 2-1 to Croatia in their final group match, Ghana’s earlier results proved sufficient to carry them into the next round.

Colombia head into the tie in strong form after topping Group K without defeat. The South Americans began with a confident 3-1 win over Uzbekistan, edged past DR Congo 1-0, and wrapped up their group stage with a 0-0 draw against Portugal to secure first place.

Their consistency sets up a challenging test for Ghana, with Colombia’s attacking strength expected to pose a significant threat in the knockout round.

For Ghana, the focus will be on extending their World Cup journey with another statement performance on the global stage, while Colombia will aim to build on their solid group-stage display as they target a deeper run in the tournament.
