Governance Spokesperson at the Presidency, Dr. Sammy Ayeh has indicated that the government will have negotiations with the leadership of CLOGSAG so that the strike action could be reversed.
He commended the leadership of the association that the president would consider their concerns.
Dr. Ayeh, has weighed in on the strike of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG).
Speaking on ABC in the morning, Dr Ayeh said the president acted per the law as he sought legal clearance from the legal unit at the presidency.
He emphasized that there is nothing wrong with the government’s action, as he has followed due process and is willing to negotiate with the leadership of CLOGSAG to stop the strike.
“There have been several meetings with CLOGSAG at the highest level of government. Going forward the people of Ghana will hear from us.
‘There will be an indoor discussion with the leadership of CLOGSAG.
“Even though the strike action might have began, we believe that it may not take too long.
He further added that the leadership of CLOGSAG “must be commended. They are very tolerant. they make their demands very clear to government and government also responded. And they are still in negotiation and i believe that by the close of the day we will hear a good news.”
