President John Dramani Mahama has appointed new leadership for three key security institutions: the Ghana National Fire Service, the Prisons Service, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

The appointments, announced on Friday, March 14, include DDGP 3 Patience Baffoe-Bonnie as the head of the Ghana Prisons Service, DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as the head of the Ghana National Fire Service, and DCI Samuel Basentale Amadu as the new Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The announcement came shortly after President Mahama swore in COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police, replacing IGP George Akuffo-Dampare, who had led the Ghana Police Service since 2021 under former President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The reshuffling of leadership within the country’s security agencies is part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening law enforcement and public safety.

By appointing new heads for these institutions, President Mahama signals a renewed focus on efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery in Ghana’s security sector.

The new appointees are expected to bring fresh perspectives and drive reforms within their respective agencies to enhance national security and public confidence.
