The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Gibril, has stated that the party is not adopting a “do or die” approach ahead of the upcoming Akwatia by-election.
Instead, he described the contest as a strategic opportunity for the NDC to present itself as the governing party capable of delivering meaningful development to the constituency.
Speaking on the party’s preparation, Mahdi Gibril emphasized that the NDC’s focus is on engaging voters with a message of leadership and national development.
According to him, the by-election offers a platform for the NDC to demonstrate its governance credentials and strengthen its connection with the grassroots.
He also addressed internal party cohesion ahead of the primaries, assuring that whoever emerges as the NDC candidate will receive unanimous support from the entire party structure.
“We are going into this as a united front,” he noted, reinforcing the NDC’s readiness to contest the Akwatia seat with both unity and purpose.
