There were charged scenes at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters on Thursday as former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, submitted his nomination forms to contest the party’s upcoming flagbearer election.
Supporters of the minister thronged the venue in their numbers, creating an atmosphere of excitement and solidarity.

Dr. Adutwum’s submission came just hours after Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia filed his own nomination.
The display of massive love and energy from his supporters reflected growing enthusiasm for his candidacy as the party intensifies preparations for the crucial internal polls ahead of the 2028 general election.

Already, the contest is shaping up as a keen race, with former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong and Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong also submitting their forms on Wednesday, 27 August,2025.

With multiple heavyweights officially in the race, the competition for the NPP flagbearership is expected to be fiercely contested in the months ahead.
