Global Info Analytics has defended the credibility of its latest survey, projecting a lead for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of next week’s Akwatia by-election.
Senior Analyst Salam Nsiah told ABC News GH that “we don’t massage poll; we have always been a credible polling firm,” stressing confidence in the accuracy of their findings as political tensions rise.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed the firm’s data, claiming bias and political alignment. Nsiah’s remarks directly countered those allegations, reinforcing the prediction of a narrow race that places the NDC candidate, Benard Baidoo, in the lead.
He maintained that the results were grounded in methodology rather than partisan influence, even as the NPP continued to question the validity of the poll.
According to Global Info Analytics, Baidoo holds 53 percent support, compared to 47 percent for the NPP’s Solomon Kwame Asumadu.
The outcome of the September 2 by-election will be decisive for the Eastern Region constituency, which has been without representation since the death of MP Ernest Kumi earlier this year.
Provisional results indicated that the NPP is leading with 4,855 votes followed by the NDC with 4,059 in 29 out of 119 polling stations.
