The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has rewarded seven personnel of the Tema Regional Police Command with promotions following their decisive role in foiling a robbery incident in Tema.
The officers were recognised for their swift and coordinated response to an attack on a Mobile Money vendor at Tema Community 5, an operation that resulted in the shooting of two suspected robbers and the retrieval of a firearm, ammunition, and other critical evidence.
The promotions, confirmed on April 14, 2026, form part of efforts by the Police Administration to acknowledge acts of bravery and professionalism within the service. Those elevated include Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey; Inspector Prince Asante; No. 45881 Sergeant Lukman Mohammed; No. 49900 Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru; No. 54157 Corporal Jerome Akator; and No. 59882 Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah.

Commending the officers, the IGP, alongside members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), praised their discipline and commitment to duty, describing their actions as exemplary.
He further emphasised that the recognition should inspire not only the beneficiaries but also other officers across the Ghana Police Service to remain steadfast in maintaining law and order.
According to him, such acts of dedication are crucial in strengthening public confidence and ensuring safety in communities across the country.
