National First Vice Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has unveiled a comprehensive seven point leadership pledge, promising to restore confidence within the party, strengthen its grassroots structures and help position the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.

In a leadership undertaking released as part of his campaign, Mr Ahiagbah pledged to champion unity, inclusivity, discipline and organisational reforms while supporting the vision of the party’s presidential candidate and National Chairman.

According to him, his ambition to serve as National First Vice Chairman is driven by a commitment to rebuild the party’s strength through dedicated leadership, teamwork and effective mobilisation.

The first commitment in his pledge is to restore the pride and passion for the NPP’s traditions, stressing the need to rekindle the enthusiasm and confidence that have historically defined the party.

Mr Ahiagbah also pledged to support the vision of the party’s flagbearer and the reform agenda of the National Chairman with loyalty, dedication and service, describing unity at the national leadership level as essential to achieving the party’s political objectives.

Recognising the importance of the party’s grassroots, he promised to strengthen and empower the core structures of the NPP while discouraging parallel structures arguing that a united and well coordinated organisation remains the foundation of electoral success.

On internal cohesion, the National First Vice Chairman hopeful said he would work to build unity through discipline and fairness, ensuring that members feel respected, valued and treated equitably across all levels of the party.

Mr Ahiagbah further pledged to lead through inclusivity, teamwork and reconciliation, emphasising that every member, regardless of background or political affiliation within the party, should have an opportunity to contribute towards rebuilding a stronger NPP.

He also assured delegates and party faithful that his leadership would be guided by the principle of leaving the party stronger than he found it with a focus on sustainable institutional growth rather than short term political gains.

Looking beyond the party’s internal elections, Mr Ahiagbah identified the 2028 general election as a major priority, pledging to work tirelessly with the party’s leadership, executives and grassroots members to prepare the NPP for electoral victory.

Political observers believe the pledge reflects a campaign centred on organisational renewal, internal unity and strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the next national elections.

As the NPP prepares to elect new national executives, Mr Ahiagbah’s message places significant emphasis on collective leadership, discipline and reconciliation, values many delegates consider critical to repositioning the party for future success.

With his campaign built around the theme of restoring confidence, empowering grassroots structures and fostering unity, Richard Ahiagbah is presenting himself as a leader committed to serving the party with dedication while contributing to its long term growth and competitiveness.
