The Office of the President has categorically denied any involvement in a contentious land dispute involving Ghana International School (GIS), dismissing allegations that the Head of the VVIP Unit is involved in efforts to encroach on the school’s property.
This denial follows a statement issued on Thursday, September 5, 2024, where the Presidency sought to clarify its stance.
In the statement, the Office of the President made it clear that it has no interest in the land located within the Cantonments area.
“The Office of the President does NOT have any interest whatsoever in the piece of land in question,” the statement emphasized, rejecting any notion of Presidential involvement in the matter.
The statement further clarified that no officer or agent of the Presidency has been directed to interfere with or secure the disputed property.
The Office also revealed that it has taken proactive steps by formally lodging a complaint with the Inspector General of Police.
This move seeks to ensure a thorough investigation into the allegations, which the Presidency firmly asserts are baseless.
In a bid to quell any public concern, the Presidency urged citizens to disregard the claims linking the Office to the land dispute. It characterized such allegations as completely false and without merit, underscoring the need for accurate information to be disseminated on the issue.
