The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has provided financial relief to 251,576 pensioners for September 2024, disbursing a total of GHȼ450.07 million.
The payment, made on September 19, covered pension benefits under both PNDC Law 247 and Act 766. Notably, the highest monthly pension payout under PNDC Law 247 was GHȼ186,777.58, while the maximum under Act 766 was GHȼ26,509.66.
Despite these figures, the lowest monthly pension for existing pensioners stood at GHȼ409.10, and for new pensioners, it was GHȼ300.00.
The September disbursement saw an increase of 996 beneficiaries compared to August, highlighting SSNIT’s commitment to extending financial support to more retirees each month.
Pensioners are encouraged to access their benefits through their respective banks.
This latest payout aims to reinforce the importance of financial security for retirees, ensuring they receive their entitlements promptly.
With the next payment scheduled for October 17, 2024, SSNIT continues to urge workers to actively plan for their retirement to secure the full benefits of the scheme.
