An Accra Circuit Court has discharged seven out of nine protesters from the Democracy Hub movement, following their arraignment on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
During the proceedings, State Attorney Amanda Awadi announced the Republic’s decision to discontinue the case against the discharged individuals:
Kingsley Asiedu
Seth Cofie
Vera Gloria Louis
Nii Quaye Hammond
Manuel Biney
Dorsese Joseph
Ernest Acheampong.
However, the court indicated that a new charge sheet would be filed against the remaining two accused individuals.
The case has been adjourned to November 21, 2024, for further proceedings, as the legal situation surrounding the Democracy Hub movement continues to evolve.
