We are not holding the country, parliament to ransom – NDC’s Dr. Dominic Ayine

Speaking on ABC NEWS GH , Dr. Ayine argued that the Court’s intervention was legally flawed and driven by a hasty attempt to assert its authority, but the new “NDC Majority” will not hold the country into Ransom should there be a new declaration by the Speaker of Parliament; Algban Gbabin.

“We will not be doing ourselves and the country any good, if the parliament descends into chaos.”

“We will as much as possible be civil in the way we conduct business despite the differences we have with respect to the seats that were properly declared vacant.”

“Despite everything Afenyo Markins has been saying, trying to describe the NDC as lawless, we are not.”

“We are a group of very descent men and women.”

Ayine also stated that the NPP Caucus is getting a double dose of what they as the -then-Minority suffered from during a similar ruling by the then-former Speaker; RT. Hon Mike Aaron Oquaye.

He has described the NPP’s rants as absurd.

“The fact that in the past people declared themselves independent, and filed as independent and no one declare their seats vacant does not mean we should continue with that practice,” he added.
