Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Krobea Asante, has strongly criticized those defending the conduct of NDC Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, calling for an apology to be rendered to former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah.
His comments, made on May 6 during an interview on the ABC News Morning Show, follow the emergence of a viral video over the weekend showing Gyamfi presenting money to evangelist Nana Agradaa, an act Asante describes as deeply ironic given the NDC’s previous attacks on Cecilia Dapaah over issues involving cash.
Krobea Asante labelled the situation as “a part of hypocrisy,” questioning the moral authority of the NDC to condemn others while engaging in similar acts.
“Then every Ghanaian who criticised Cecilia Dapaah must apologise to her,” he stated emphatically, urging the opposition to maintain consistency in its public accountability narrative.
He further challenged the sincerity of the NDC, asking, “Who are they deceiving?” as he drew attention to the contrast between their rhetoric and recent actions.
This controversy unfolds in the wake of President Akufo-Addo’s recent introduction of a Code of Conduct for public officials, which aims to strengthen ethics and integrity in governance.
Krobea Asante used the moment to reinforce the importance of credible leadership, saying that leaders must hold themselves to the same standards they demand of others.
