Residents of Ashaiman are facing yet another prolonged water crisis, with supply shortages now stretching into the third week.
The situation has left thousands struggling to access clean water, as the municipality continues to experience recurrent disruptions.
Communities such as Zenu, School Junction, Atadeka, Kubekrom, Peace Land, and Katamanso have been hit hardest, forcing residents to travel long distances in search of water.
The shortage has also placed immense pressure on water vendors, who are now struggling to secure supply, leading to soaring prices.
With prices skyrocketing to nearly three times their usual rates, many residents have resorted to using boreholes located dangerously close to toilet facilities, raising serious health concerns.
Speaking to ABC News GH, some commuters explained that they had to rely on private individuals who have stepped in to order water tankers to ease the crisis.
While these interventions have provided temporary relief, many argue that they are not sustainable.
Frustrated residents have called on authorities to implement long-term solutions to prevent such recurrent shortages from continuing to disrupt their daily lives.
The Ashaiman water crisis has become a persistent issue, with residents accusing local authorities of failing to address the problem effectively.
While the government has yet to provide a clear roadmap for resolving the shortages, the community continues to struggle with the dire consequences of inconsistent water supply.
