Coordinator of Eco-Conscious Citizens, Awula Serwah has stressed that additional consultations to address illegal mining are not needed.
Speaking on ABC in the morning, she noted that despite ongoing discussions about tackling illegal mining, what is required now is decisive action, as the solutions are already evident.
In other development, Solomon Owusu, the Communications Director for the Movement for Change, has urged the government to address the ongoing galamsey crisis with urgency.
He stressed that Ghanaians placed their trust in the President to tackle this issue, which is why he was elected into office.
Owusu called on the President to meet the expectations of the people and act decisively.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, he further emphasized the need for government appointees who are capable of effectively addressing the galamsey problem.
His remarks followed President Mahama’s State of the Nation Address, in which he addressed the galamsey situation in the country.
