The Black Queens of Ghana are poised to lock horns once again with the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal in the second of a two-legged international friendly series on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
The match, scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM GMT at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thies, forms part of Ghana’s nine-day training tour in Senegal, serving as an important build-up to the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The first meeting between the two sides saw Ghana narrowly edge out Senegal 1-0, courtesy of a towering header from Evelyn Badu. Despite playing much of the game with ten players following a red card to midfielder Anasthesia Achiaa, the Queens demonstrated grit and tactical awareness to see out the match and claim a morale-boosting win.

As the countdown to WAFCON 2025 continues, Tuesday’s clash offers both teams another opportunity to fine-tune their strategies, test squad depth, and build match fitness. Ghana will be hoping to make it two wins from two and continue building momentum, while Senegal, stung by the narrow defeat, are expected to return with renewed determination and tactical adjustments.
