Labour expert Seth Abloso has stated that the Bank of Ghana (BoG) is well within its rights to recall staff whom they initially
ended a week ago.
He explained that the Bank has the authority to make certain decisions regarding employees who are still on probation.
Speaking on Business News Update, Mr Abloso expressed confidence in the Bank’s decision-making process, stressing that the move was not politically motivated.
“Probation period at the employers discretion. It can be extended to six or nine months,” he said.
Hiscomments come in the wake of the BoG recalling nearly 100 staff members who had been suspended due to their appointments taking place after the December 7, 2024, elections.
“It is not out of place that they have been recalled and placed on probation,” he added.
