Nsoatreman Football Club has withdrawn from the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League ABC Sports can confirm, following a tragic incident that occurred during their Matchday 19 game against Asante Kotoko at the Nana Kronmansah Park on Sunday.
The clash led to the death of Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley, a member of Asante Kotoko’s Supporters’ Communication Team, who was stabbed by unknown assailants.
The indefinite ban of Nsoatreman FC’s home ground and the tragic loss of life are among the reasons cited for the club’s withdrawal from the league.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lydia Donkor, has been tasked with leading the investigation into the incident.
