The High Court in Accra has reduced the bail condition of former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, from GH¢120 million to GH¢80 million, with two sureties—one to be justified.
However, his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, will still face an GH¢80 million bail but with eased conditions requiring two sureties without justification.
As part of their bail conditions, the couple must report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) twice a week for the next three weeks and are prohibited from travelling without EOCO’s permission.
Adu-Boahene was arrested at Kotoka International Airport upon his return from London, while his wife was apprehended when she visited EOCO to check on him.
The former NSB boss faces allegations of embezzling funds from a $7 million cyber defence system contract with Israeli firm RLC Holdings Limited. Investigations suggest he diverted GH¢27.1 million into a private account linked to a company he co-owns with his wife.
Authorities claim the misappropriated funds were laundered through real estate investments in Ghana and abroad. The case remains under investigation as the state pushes for accountability.
