The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned power outage in parts of the Greater Accra and Tema Regions on Thursday, July 3, 2025, to allow for essential maintenance works on its distribution infrastructure.
In three separate notices published ahead of the exercise, ECG stated that the maintenance works in the Greater Accra Region will occur between 9:00am and 5:00pm, and will affect areas including Glefe, Wiaboman, Odorkor, Awoshie, Mandela, SCC, Sunny Coast, Korkordjor, and Gbawe.
Other affected locations are Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Asofa, Amen Amen, Omandjor, Tesano, Alajo, Adenta Estate, Adenta Container, Ashaley Botwe Town, Ashongman Pure Water, Ashongman Estates, Osu, and surrounding communities.
For residents in the Tema Region, the maintenance window is set from 9:00am to 4:00pm and will impact Kpong, Nuaso, Kpongunor, Agormanya, Odumase, Kojonya, Atua, Sawer, Okornya, Somanya, Jericho, Roman Down, and Under Bridge Market.
Additional areas include the State School for the Deaf, Kanawu, Adjei Kojo, Community 25, Bulasu, Ghana Flag, and Afienya Zongo.
“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” the company noted, while apologising for the inconvenience.
“We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” ECG said, urging residents and business operators in the affected areas to plan accordingly to minimise disruption.
The company has assured the public that power will be restored promptly upon completion of the maintenance and has called for cooperation throughout the period.
