Edith Dzigbordi Baku has pledged to pursue honest and accountable leadership, insisting that she will not buy voters’ support because their future “is not for sale.”

Addressing supporters, Baku said her ambition was not to rule over Ghanaians but to work with them to build a country that creates opportunities for all.

She argued that Ghana’s challenges were not primarily due to a lack of resources or talent but were worsened by corruption, selfish leadership and unfulfilled promises.

According to her, young people have talent but need meaningful opportunities, while farmers require stronger support and women need a government that listens to their concerns and ideas.

“I will not promise you money for one day and abandon you for four years,” she said, stressing the need for sustainable development rather than short-term political inducements.

Baku said her vision includes the creation of decent jobs, improved access to quality education and healthcare, and a society where people’s prospects are determined by their hard work rather than personal connections.

She also urged voters not to support her merely because she is a woman, but to consider her commitment to confronting corruption, serving marginalised communities and providing a new direction for the country.

“Give me your trust, and together we will give Ghana a new direction,” she said.

Baku concluded with her campaign message: “Integrity to Lead. New Ideas to Win,” adding that a better Ghana is possible if citizens choose a new path.
