Ghanaian footballers delivered eye-catching performances across Europe over the weekend, with goals, key minutes, and standout contributions highlighting a productive round of fixtures in multiple leagues. ABC Sports brings you a full breakdown of how the country’s stars fared abroad.

The headline moment came in England, where Antoine Semenyo etched his name into the history books by scoring his first-ever Premier League goal for Manchester City. His strike helped City secure a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wolves, marking a major milestone in the forward’s top-flight journey.

Still in England, winger Fatawu Issahaku found the net for Leicester City in the Championship, although his goal proved insufficient as the Foxes slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Oxford United. Jordan Ayew also featured prominently, logging 68 minutes for Leicester United in their league outing.

Lower down the English football pyramid, Andy Yiadom was in action for 79 minutes as Reading shared the points in a 2-2 draw with Barnsley in League One. In League Two, veteran winger Albert Adomah made a brief cameo for Walsall in their stalemate against Accrington.

Italy provided plenty of drama, particularly in Serie A, where Caleb Ekuban was on target in a thrilling encounter at the Luigi Ferraris. The Ghanaian forward scored as Genoa mounted a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Bologna 3-2. Elsewhere in the Italian top flight, Ibrahim Sulemana featured for 26 minutes as Cagliari edged Fiorentina 2-1.

In Serie B, Alfred Duncan made a short appearance in Venezia’s emphatic 5-2 win over Mantova, while Emmanuel Gyasi played 28 minutes for Palermo in a draw against Modena.

Spain also saw Ghanaian involvement, with Thomas Partey getting a late run-out for Villarreal in their 2-0 loss to Real Madrid. Kwasi Sibo featured for Real Oviedo in a difficult outing that ended in a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona. In La Liga II, Iddrisu Baba came on for Almeria but could not prevent a 1-0 loss to Eibar.

France’s Ligue 1 had several Ghanaian players in action. Alidu Seidu completed the full 90 minutes for Rennes in their 2-0 defeat to Lorient, where Nathaniel Adjei appeared for 17 minutes. Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu both featured as Auxerre narrowly lost 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain. Terry Yegbe played over an hour for Metz in a heavy 5-2 loss to Lyon, while Kwame Peprah and Abdul Samed Salis were part of Nice’s dominant 4-1 win over Nantes. In Ligue II, Augustine Boakye completed the full match for St. Etienne in their 1-0 defeat to Reims.

Germany rounded off the weekend action, with Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer featuring for 68 minutes as Hamburger SV drew with St. Pauli in the Bundesliga. In Bundesliga II, Patrick Pfeiffer helped Darmstadt to a solid 2-0 victory over Nürnberg, while Jan Gyamerah played the entire match for Elversberg in their 1-1 draw against Bochum.

From landmark goals to valuable minutes, Ghanaian players once again showcased their growing influence across Europe, underlining their importance to both club and country.
