The Ministry of Finance has officially granted approval for the implementation of a negotiated agreement between the Government and various senior staff associations in Ghana’s tertiary education sector.
This landmark agreement will see revised rates of allowances paid to eligible staff of the Senior Staff Association-University of Ghana (SSA-UoG), the Federation of Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG), and the Technical University Administrators’ Association of Ghana (TUAAG).
The approval, conveyed in a letter dated May 21, 2025, from the Ministry of Finance, follows the conclusion of extensive negotiations between the government and the aforementioned unions.
The effective date for the implementation of these revised allowances is set for November 1, 2024.

The Ministry of Finance has urged all relevant departments to give immediate effect to this approval.
