The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have jointly announced the extension of operational hours at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport, effective Saturday, June 1, 2025.
According to a public notice released by the two aviation bodies, the extension will see Kumasi’s Prempeh I International Airport now operating until 11:00 p.m., with the additional hours covering the 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. window.
Tamale International Airport’s operational time has also been extended by four hours, moving from a 6:00 p.m. closing to 10:00 p.m.
To facilitate the change, the GCAA has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) informing all carriers of the new schedule.
Domestic airlines have been encouraged to take advantage of the extended hours by increasing flight frequency to and from the two key airports.
The measure, part of broader efforts to enhance convenience and connectivity in Ghana’s air travel network, is expected to particularly benefit passengers traveling within the Ashanti and Northern regions.
Travelers are advised to take note of the adjustments when planning their trips.
