Michael Harry Yamson, the acting District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) Administrator, has assured Parliament of his commitment to working with all Members of Parliament (MPs) irrespective of their political affiliations.
Speaking during his vetting on Thursday, Mr. Yamson emphasized that his office would remain impartial and accessible to all legislators seeking support for their constituencies.
“We may be political, but we are not partisan, because the mandate we have is to reduce inequities in development for all Ghanaians, and that says nothing about political color,” Mr. Yamson stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to receiving, listening to, and addressing the concerns of all MPs fairly, ensuring equitable access to the Common Fund.
His assurance followed concerns raised by the Majority Chief Whip and MP for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, who highlighted that past administrations had allegedly favored MPs from the ruling party, making it difficult for opposition MPs to secure needed funds and resources for their constituencies.
Mr. Yamson pledged to change that narrative, emphasizing that his success as Administrator would be measured by a tangible reduction in development disparities across the country.
“My joy is to be able to say that at the end of my tenure, I could speak to reductions in inequities in development,” he stated.
