Judgment day for Ahmed Ibrahim and co: Parliament’s Appointments Committee resumes vetting today

Parliament’s Appointments Committee will today Tuesday, January 21, continue vetting following its constitutional mandate to assess the qualifications and suitability of individuals selected to lead various ministries.

The vetting sessions will take place in Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3 of the New Administration Block and are expected to begin at 8:30 am.

The Appointments Committee, chaired by Mr Bernard Ahiafor, has already vetted six nominees in prior session, namely;

Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Minister-Designate for Finance
Mr John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister-Designate for Energy
Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Attorney-General and Minister-Designate for Justice
Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP – Minister Designate, Ministry of Roads and Highways
Haruna Iddrisu, MP – Minister Designate, Ministry of Education
Eric Opoku, MP – Minister Designate, Ministry of Food and Agriculture

Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the vetting process will feature Abla Dzifa Gomashie, MP – Minister Designate, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Emelia Arthur, MP – Minister Designate, Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and George Opare-Addo – Minister Designate, Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.

The Committee aims to conclude the vetting of all nominees by Monday, January 27, 2025.
