President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Prosper Douglas Bani, a former Chief of Staff, as the National Security Advisor as part of a strategic move to strengthen Ghana’s security framework.
The announcement, made by Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, underscores the administration’s renewed focus on security following the President’s recent visit to conflict-prone Bawku.
Alongside Bani’s appointment, DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been named National Security Coordinator, tasked with ensuring alignment across the country’s security initiatives.
The reshuffle also includes COP Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd.), who will serve as the Director of Operations at the Presidency, with a mandate to enhance operational effectiveness in security matters.
The statement further revealed that Charles Kipo will take on the role of Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau, adding depth to the government’s efforts to bolster intelligence operations.
