President John Mahama has established an 8-member Constitutional Review Committee to address gaps and challenges in Ghana’s constitutional framework.
Chaired by Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, the committee includes notable figures such as Justice Sophia Adinyirah, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, Dr. Godwin Djokoto, and Dr. Ibrahim Tanko Amidu.
The team will review past constitutional reform efforts, particularly those from 2010 and 2023, and engage stakeholders to gather input on proposed amendments to the 1992 Constitution.
In announcing the initiative, President Mahama reiterated his dedication to ensuring an effective and transparent process through the involvement of seasoned professionals.
The committee, which has a five-month mandate, will submit actionable recommendations aimed at strengthening Ghana’s democratic governance.
