President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in 15 distinguished individuals as Ghana’s Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and Consul-Generals, to represent the country across the globe.

The ceremony took place on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Jubilee House in Accra, marking a key step in Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties, foster international cooperation, and advance the nation’s interests abroad.

During the swearing-in, President Mahama urged the new envoys to serve with diligence, integrity, and patriotism. “Integrity must be your watchword. The Public Financial Management Act and all relevant regulations must guide your stewardship of public resources that are put in your care. I urge you to guard the public purse with diligence and ensure that efficiency, service and ethical governance, the very values we are entrenching at home, shine through in every mission abroad,” he said.

Mahama emphasized that the envoys’ role goes beyond ceremonial duties, highlighting the importance of economic diplomacy, regional security, and the welfare of Ghanaians living overseas.

The newly commissioned envoys will serve in key diplomatic hubs around the world, including Washington D.C., Paris, Abuja, Moscow, Beijing, London, Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Ankara, Copenhagen, Malabo, Brasilia, New Delhi, New York, and Monrovia. In addition, Ambassador-in-Situ Aikins Abrokwa and Chief of Protocol Gustav Kwaku Sefe Dovlo, as well as Ambassador-at-Large Patience Kokui Gameli-Kwame, will provide strategic support for Ghana’s diplomatic machinery at home and abroad.
