The Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hon Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has donated brand-new, US-made sound systems to the people of Nkwanta in her constituency. The presentation was made on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, following a request from the community to the MP during the 2024 general election period.
Speaking during a brief ceremony on behalf of the Member of Parliament, the Salaga-South Constituency Chairman, Haruna Abdul Aziz, expressed appreciation to the people of Nkwanta for their patience, loyalty, and continuous support for the MP and the NDC party. He explained that the sound systems were provided to support entertainment and other social activities within the community and encouraged residents to make good use of the equipment.
Mr Haruna Abdul Aziz also explained that, the initiative forms part of the MP’s commitment to empowering and re-energising the youth through recreation and entertainment, while promoting social cohesion and community development. He noted that creating opportunities for relaxation and social interaction is essential in helping young people maintain the right mindset and motivation to contribute meaningfully to national development, in line with the popular saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
The donation was met with excitement and appreciation from community members, who commended the MP for her swift response to their request. They also offered prayers and words of encouragement to the MP and the NDC party.
The Nkwanta Branch Chairman, Shaibu Seidu, who was visibly emotional during the ceremony, praised the MP for honouring her promise to the youth and people of Nkwanta. He described her as a responsive and caring leader who listens to the concerns of her constituents and assured her of the community’s unwavering support.
The ceremony was attended by constituency executives, branch executives, and staff from the office of the Member of Parliament.
