The Deputy General Secretary Of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has hinted that the new NDC Majority will expedite actions to Impeach President Akuffo Addo in the coming days.
Speaking on ABC NEWS GH on Friday, he indicated that the president has failed woefully in managing the Affairs of the Country and upholding the sanctity of what is described as an “Abysmal Governance”, that needs an immediate impeachment.
His comment follows Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration of four seats in parliament vacant which has given the NDC an upper hand in parliament.
“that this government requires stricter accountability and we are to salvage what is left.
“and so if we’ve had the chance to scrutinize this government the more, i think it helps Ghanaians.”
“President Akuffo Addo must not escape accountability of destroying our forest reserves. He must be impeached. And if parliament has changed hands, it opens the window for Ghanaians to institute an action for his impeachment. He must not allow to finish his 8 years…”
Meanwhile, the deputy secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande has alleged that some big personalities within the NPP are in support of the NDC MPs toppling their counterparts in parliament and overtaking the majority status in the house. According to him, even some members of the NPP are tired of the Akufo-Addo government and can’t wait for them to leave. He further asserted that NDC will do well to maintain the majority position beyond the 2024 elections.
” Any vote for Bawumia is an entrenchment for Akufo Addo to continue. The same corruption scandal is what we are going to see.
