Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed a strategic initiative to deploy drones for monitoring the December general elections in the region. This move aims to ensure the security of over two million votes for the party and enhance monitoring mechanisms to prevent potential irregularities.
Recognizing the significance of securing a substantial number of votes in the region, estimated at over two million, the NDC considers this endeavor crucial in shaping the outcome of the elections.
Ashie Moore has indicated that comprehensive plans are already underway, including the training of personnel tasked with operating the drones.
“Next week, we are going to train constituency executives on how to use drones to monitor what happens during the elections,” Ashie Moore told cheering supporters.
While specific details regarding the deployment are yet to be disclosed, Ashie Moore emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to acquiring all necessary resources for a seamless electoral process.
In addition to this initiative, John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer, has urged vigilance during the polls, highlighting the importance of staying vigilant to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
“One of the key things in this election is going to be vigilance. We can do all the campaigning we want, but if we are not vigilant on the day and don’t cover every polling station with eagle eyes, you will do everything you can and not achieve the objective that you want, and so in Greater Accra in particular, we want you to cover your polling stations with the best party agents.”.
