Parliament has come to a standstill today as the Minority caucus, led by Minority Leader Afenyo Markin, chanted in unison, “No Ablekuma, No Government Business.”
The are demanding immediate action to resolve the impasse surrounding the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat, which remains unrepresented due to an unresolved election result.
“The people of Ablekuma need representation, and the government must take steps to solve the election result matter,” Markin insisted on the floor.
Their stance has led to disruptions in parliamentary proceedings, forcing Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Amoako Asiamah to adjourn the sitting to Monday, January 27, 2025.
Speaking on behalf of the caucus, Afenyo Markin emphasized that, “the people of Ablekuma need representation, and the government must take steps to solve the election result matter.”
