The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has announced the continuation of its enforcement exercise to remove all unauthorized outdoor advertising signs located in road medians across key corridors in the Greater Accra Region.
The Authority says the decision aligns with its mandate to ensure road safety and follows a successful operation in the Ayawaso West Municipality.
According to the NRSA, these signs pose significant safety hazards by causing visual and cognitive distractions to drivers and obstructing visibility for both motorists and pedestrians.
In August, the removal exercise will target specific routes including the N1 Highway from the Achimota Overhead to the Dzorwulu Fiesta Royale Traffic Light, the Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Circle stretch through to Weija intersection, Spintex Road from the Action Chapel intersection to Palace Mall, and the Kawokudi to Achimota corridor.
The NRSA has issued a final warning to all advertising companies, corporate clients, and owners of signage in these medians to voluntarily remove them immediately.
Noncompliance will result in the forceful removal of the signs by the Authority and its partner Municipal Assemblies, with all associated costs surcharged to the owners.
