His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has officially resumed mediation efforts in the protracted Bawku conflict, with a crucial meeting scheduled today with the Kusang Traditional Council.
In a formal letter from the Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene reaffirmed his commitment to helping restore lasting peace in the troubled area, calling on all sides to actively support the process.
“Asantehene requests all stakeholders to cooperate for us to find a lasting peace in Bawku,” the statement read.
The renewed intervention by the revered monarch follows persistent tensions and sporadic violence in the Bawku enclave, with the latest move seen as a significant step towards national reconciliation and stability in the Upper East Region.
