A Chief Inspector of Police stationed in the Central Region, identified as Benjamin Doe Kuwornu and stationed at Assin Fosu, has been interdicted by the police administration due to misconduct on social media.

This action comes after Chief Inspector Kuwornu posted a video on social media discussing President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, February 6, 2024, the Police Administration confirmed awareness of the video and announced Chief Inspector Kuwornu’s interdiction to facilitate a thorough investigation into the misconduct.

The statement emphasized the Police Service’s commitment to upholding professionalism in the discharge of its mandate and reassured the public of continued adherence to professional standards.

“We would like to reiterate our assurance to the general public that the Police Service will continue to ensure that professionalism is maintained at all times in the discharge of our mandate,” part of the statement read.

However, the police administration declined to disclose the specific nature of Chief Inspector Kuwornu’s misconduct in the video.

In the video, Chief Inspector Kuwornu criticized President Akufo-Addo, branding him “incompetent” and accusing him of squandering Ghana’s resources.

Addressing the President directly, Kuwornu expressed his dissatisfaction, stating, “Mr. President, you are destroying our nation. I want to meet you one-on-one. He further criticized the President’s advisors for failing to provide honest counsel, allowing him to make detrimental decisions that undermine the foundation of Ghana.

These remarks led to Chief Inspector Kuwornu’s interdiction as the police administration investigates the matter further.
