Former MP for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, has cautioned against politicizing the suspension of the Chief Justice, warning it could spiral into a “political vendetta.”
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, Dr. Kissi expressed concern over the growing partisanship surrounding the matter, stating, “Let us be very careful that we are now drawing into more of politics than justice, and it will be a political vendetta, it will be a political vindication.”
He urged stakeholders to put the nation’s interest first, adding that the judiciary must be shielded from political interference.
Dr. Kissi further pointed out that lawyers backing the petitioners are closely linked to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), arguing that “the petitioners’ lawyers are coloured in NDC’s colours” and adding, “Tsikata stands for the NDC.”
He noted that both the opposition and government risk undermining the country’s democratic institutions if they continue to politicize the process.
“We must not turn this into a partisan battle,” he stressed, warning that doing so could fuel division and erode trust in the judiciary.
