The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, has criticized the government’s revocation of public sector appointments, calling it unconstitutional and unjustified.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, February 13, 2025, he argued that the decision contradicts the NDC’s own job creation policy.
“So what happened, Mr. President?” he questioned, emphasizing that the directive lacked legal justification.
He added that the affected workers were not mere statistics but “fathers, mothers, and breadwinners” whose livelihoods were now at risk.
Nana Boakye further stated that the mere date of appointment does not justify termination, drawing comparisons to the previous NPP administration, which he claimed did not revoke similar appointments after the 2016 elections.
“Mahama cannot revoke the appointments of these recruits, just as Akufo-Addo did not,” he insisted.
Nana Boakye revealed that he had already taken legal action against the government’s directive.
“I am already in court; I have directed my lawyers,” he announced. According to him, the case is being pursued to challenge the constitutionality of the revocation.
He urged affected appointees to unite and support the legal challenge, assuring them of the NPP’s backing.
