The Member of Parliament for Salaga-South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has embarked on a tour of electoral areas within the constituency to engage party executives and mobilise the grassroots ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The three-day engagement, held from August 18 to 20, 2026, took the MP to eight electoral areas—Sisipe, Kpembe, Konkomba, Dagbaline, Kuka, Nfabaso, Machera and Ngua Alhaji—across the Kpembe, Salaga and Konkomba wards.

The tour was also aimed at thanking branch executives and party members for their support, cooperation and commitment during the recently concluded National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch reorganisation.

Hajia Zuwera described the reorganisation exercise as peaceful and well coordinated, commending party members for embracing consensus-building, which she said enabled several branches to reach agreements without elections.

She assured the branch executives of her continued support and called for greater unity and commitment to strengthen the NDC and make the party more attractive and formidable ahead of the 2028 elections.

The Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, also commended the branch executives for their maturity and cooperation throughout the reorganisation process.

He urged them to remain patient and continue supporting the party, noting that some members had already benefited from the NDC government while further opportunities were expected to become available.

Mr. Abdul Aziz further encouraged the executives to work closely with the MP and support President John Dramani Mahama’s government to attract more development to the constituency.

At Sisipe, the Branch Chairman, Alhaji Iddrisu Abubakar, thanked the MP for the engagement and praised her leadership. He assured her that party members were working to secure the Sisipe polling station for the NDC in the 2028 general elections.

He also appealed to the MP to provide guidance on identifying committed and loyal party members to contest the forthcoming constituency executive elections, arguing that this would help produce executives capable of working effectively with the MP and strengthening the party at the grassroots.

At Kpembe L/A Primary, Branch Chairman Mr. Alaja Sulemana Osman similarly commended the MP for engaging branch executives after the reorganisation. He said the initiative would strengthen unity and boost the confidence of party members at the grassroots.

The engagements provided an opportunity for branch executives to discuss challenges affecting the party and its grassroots structures directly with the MP and constituency executives.

The meetings ended with a commitment by the party leadership and branch executives to work together to build a stronger, more united and attractive NDC capable of securing victory in the 2028 general elections.

Hajia Zuwera indicated that the engagement would continue, with plans to extend the tour to electoral areas in the Kafaba, Makango and Kulaw wards in the coming days.
